CLASS ASSIGNMENTS

 

 

  1. Participate fully in the Innovation and Creativity Class March 4 —March 11, 2020.

 

  1. As a member of a tutorial team, participate in conducting a Tutorial Session

for class on the following dates March 18,2020 and March 25, 2020.  The four tutorial areas to select from are outlined on the page entitled Tutorial Sessions.

 

  1. Participate fully as a member of a HR/OD Practitioner Consulting Team, on the

following dates April 1, 2020—April 15, 2020.

 

  1. Email (Via Canvas or marchitastanton@comcast.net ) Final Course Paper no later

than Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

 

The requirements for the paper are described on the page entitled Final Paper

 

 

 

 

 

FINAL COURSE GRADE

 

The course grade will be based on the following:

 

Student Class Participation (Individual Grade)………………….10%

            Tutorial Presentation (Team Grade)……………………………..25%

            HR/OD Practitioner Consulting Process (Team Grade)……….25%

Final Course Paper (Individual Grade)…………………………..40%

Guidelines for Group Presentations

 

Time Requirement – 45 minutes – 30 minutes of presentation and 15 minutes of Q&A (for entire group)

 

General Guidelines

  • Follow the guidelines provided
  • Each presentation is to have a substantive introduction and summary
  • Each team member participates uniformly

 

Assessment Criteria and Weighting

  1. Technical Aspects and Knowledge of Subject Area – 10% (Group Grade)
    é Demonstrates knowledge of the subject based on research findings

    éIntegrates theories and concepts to illustrate application

    éAnswers questions clearly and concisely

    éEnsures presentation consistency in format, theme and appearance

    éCites works on page where referenced (if using PPT) and a reference list of sources on a separate page
    Note: If you’re not using a PPT, provide a separate sheet citing your sources – provide handouts

  2. Delivery and Presentation – 10% (Individual Grade)
    éExpertly communicates and explains presentation components

    éDelivers materials in a coherent and concise manner

    éStays within the given timeframe of the presentation

    éManages audio-visuals and electronics effectively

    éEngages class in a reflective and interactive manner

  3. Team Cohesiveness and Synergy – 5% (Group Grade)
    éProvides handouts to all class members

    éDemonstrates the ability to work together as a team unit

    éExhibits support of one another in the overall process

    éTransitions seamlessly from one presenter to the next

USE RESEARCH STUDY RESULTS AND DATA; WRITINGS AND OTHER REFLECTIONS OF PRACTITIONERS; AND YOUR OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, OBSERVATIONS AND INTROSPECTIONS TO CONTRIBUTE TO A COMPREHENSIVE PRESENTATION OF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING FOUR TOPICS:

 

  1. UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE OF CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION

WITH TEAMS/TEAM BUILDING

 

  1. Describe the role of creativity and innovation in teams and team

building.

 

  1. What are the characteristics of a creative group?
  2. Be sure to include ideas for inter-group and intra-group. What is going on both within groups and between groups.
  3. What are opportunities, challenges and barriers specifically as they relate to innovation in teams and team building?

 

  1. For a team that you are a member of to be successful in transforming

an organizational culture to one that values creativity and innovation, what

are the steps, processes and activities that must be included in the team’s

approach?
